PTI Rajgira (Amaranth) is the fruit of a plant and not a grain. And for this reason, it is richer in protein as compared to other grains. Rajgira is a very common and staple ingredient in Indian homes and is used widely on fasting days and festivals as the grain is very easy for the body to digest.

PTI Rajgira (Amaranth) is higher in minerals, calcium, iron, phosphorous, and carotenoids. It is high in fiber which results in smooth digestion and is also gluten-free. Using amaranth in combination with wheat, or brown rice results in a complete protein level as high as the value in fish, meat, or poultry. Also, amaranth is the only grain with high vitamin C content. It also contains peptides and oils with anti-inflammatory properties which can ease pain and reduce inflammation. The significant level of carotenoids and vitamin A in amaranth leaves is a major boost for eye health. Amaranth aids in weight loss.

Calcium is another important nutrient in Rajgira. Calcium content in Rajgira is more than 4 times that of other grains. In fact, it has more calcium than milk. It helps heals fractures and even strengthens the bones because it is rich in calcium, protein, and iron that are essential nutrients for bone health. Rajgira is rich in Potassium which further boosts heart health by relaxing the blood vessels. Potassium reduces strain and tension in the arteries and blood vessels, lowering our blood pressure. Rajgira is rich in iron and can help people with Anaemia.

You can boil Amaranth seeds in 2 or 3 cups of milk or water and then you can add some apples or cranberries or resins with some honey or sugar for a nice healthy breakfast. Rajgira laddus make excellent power meals for kids.

Thanks to the potent vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants, Amaranth helps to boost the overall immunity.
