One of the time-saving and easy ways to find organic food is just by searching for the word “Organic” on the vegetables or fruit packing covers which indicates that they are produced by organic methods. Usually, foods that are labelled as “100% organic” must have only organic ingredients. The foods labelled with only the word “Organic” must at least contain 95% of ingredients as organic.
WAYS TO RECOGNIZE IF THE FOOD IS “ORGANIC”
1. ORGANIC FOOD DOESN'T SHINE AND LOOK GOOD
Organic food does not look as shiny and neat in real as the conventional produce that you find on the carts. Since organic food is grown naturally without any wax coatings and other artificial methods, the organic vegetables may appear in different odd shapes and dull colours. When it comes to the daily consumed cereals and provisions too, it is the same case. If the vegetables or fruits look shiny, smooth and uniform, it is likely not organic.
2. TASTE DIFFERS ON A FLAVOURFUL SIDE
Organic foods are nutrient-abundant and definitely taste delicious compared to the normal coated and waxed food. Due to the rich and surplus nutrient concentration and natural oils in the organic produce and fruits, they taste more flavourful. As a result, you need to use fewer quantities of these organic foods compared to regular conventional foods while using them in your daily kitchen dishes.

Unlike conventional staples which are mixed with chemicals to have a longer life span, organic foods can be consumed within a short span since their life span is less. Organic produce especially grains and pulses do not last for a long shelf life because the pests and insects are not repelled by any chemicals. As these foods are preservative-free, no extra chemicals are added during the packaging process. So the best way to maintain organic food is to buy them in lesser quantities instead of bulk packages.
4. STRONG SMELL
Organic foods smell much stronger than the usual conventional foods. Organic herbs, fruits and spices have a much more potent fragrance. Organic Mangoes, ginger, coriander, oranges, and turmeric foods come in a bit stronger fragrance when bought.
