Valentine's day is always celebrated on February 14th. And this year valentine’s day of 2023 is on Monday. Some historians believe that according to the ancient Roman calendar, valentines day is celebrated on the fixed date of February 14th which is a day known for all about love. 

In general, early western people often opted to celebrate holidays on the days when they coincide with the existing and forthcoming festivals like Christmas and thanksgiving day etc. So in a similar process, they placed Valentine’s day on February 14th, while according to the Roman calendar, it's celebrated on February 15th.

By the end of the 15th century, people started associating and using the word “valentine” to describe a lover character in songs and poems. Later on, in the 18th century, the renowned book called “The Young man’s Valentine Writer” was published in England. In the 19th century, paper valentine’s cards were mass-produced and then Valentine’s day came into popularity.
