Nanak Khoa/Mawa is a thickened milk solid that is widely used in Indian cooking. It is base for many good Indian recipes like burfis, Gulab Jamuns, Gajar Halwa, Peda, Burfi, Gujia, etc. Khoa is a good source of protein and energy. Can be combined with cereals, wheat flour, sugar, and flavorings in a number of recipes. Contains fairly large quantities of muscle-building proteins, bone-forming minerals, and energy-giving fat and lactose. Like any other dairy product, khoya is very good for strengthening the bones and teeth as it is rich in calcium. The presence of riboflavin makes khoya an essential source of Vitamin B. Therefore it is good for a healthy immune system, energy production, and maintenance of healthy hair and skin.
