1. BAKED CRANBERRY BRIE
The appetizer melts in the mouth as it's a kind of creamy cheese with white skin topped with cranberry syrup. Brie is basically a kind of mild, soft firm white-skinned creamy cheese. The snack is delicious and is one of the most delightful appetizers before having the main course dinner dishes.
INGREDIENTS
½ Cup of Frozen or Fresh Cranberries
½ Cup of Honey
½ Teaspoon of Ground Black Pepper
1 Spoon of Orange Zest for Serving
4 Inch Strip of Orange Peel
2 ½ Stems of Fresh Thyme
1 Cup of Wheel Brie or 1 Piece of 8 Oz Wheel Brie
3 Tablespoons of Chopped Deeply Roasted Almonds
Few Crackers for Serving
DIRECTIONS
- Pre-heat oven to 177 degrees C
- Add the ingredients of pepper, cranberries, orange peel, thyme, and honey to a saucepan and mix well on a simmer.
- Occasionally stir for about 2 to 3 minutes while on simmer and smash the cranberries lightly until they become soft and turn into syrup. The syrup should have a slightly thick consistency.
- Throw away the orange peel and thyme. Meanwhile, transfer the remaining syrup residue to a bowl and let it cool for about 10 to 12 minutes.
- Take the brie in a small cast iron skillet.
- Top the cranberry syrup on the brie and bake for about 8 minutes until the creamy cheese becomes soft.
- Top the cranberry brie with chopped almonds, thyme and orange zest as per your taste. Serving with crackers makes the cranberry brie more delicious.
2. CRISPY BUTTER POPOVERS
Appetizers like popovers are usually hollow on the inside and crispy on the outside. They are perfect for a side snack before dinners at evening parties. These popovers are easy to prepare in the oven and can be served hot directly after baking.
INGREDIENTS
2 Cups of Fresh Milk
2 Cups of All-Purpose Flour
5 Tablespoons of Melted Butter
1 Teaspoon of Salt or Salt for Taste
5 Eggs
DIRECTIONS
- Heat the oven to 375 degrees F beforehand.
- Meanwhile, take 6 deep big 7-ounce custard cups or muffin pan cups and grease them with the melted butter, then keep aside.
- For easier handling, put the greased custard cups on a jelly roll pan.
- In a bowl, beat the eggs with a blender until the eggs turn frothy.
- Add in the milk and melted butter as well and beat again well until blended fully.
- While lowering the blender speed, add the salt and flour to the milk and butter mix and continue to beat the mixture.
- To make it still easier, combine all the ingredients at once together in the blender and blend until a smooth texture is seen.
- Pour the smooth batter into the custard cups and bake for about 50 minutes. Immediately make a small thin slit on top of the popovers to allow the steam to vent out and continue to bake for 10 more minutes.
- Make sure to take out the popovers immediately from the cups with the help of a spatula and serve hot with tiny butter curls.
3. ROASTED JAMMY TOMATOES
A healthy and juicy appetizer snack just before your dinner is the roasted jammy tomatoes served along with cheese and crackers or just eaten by themselves. Fresh cherry tomatoes are roasted which allows their flavour to pop up and make them look silky in texture. Can be eaten along with pasta as a juicy topping or stuffed into sandwiches between flatbreads along with cheese too.
INGREDIENTS
340 Grams of Grape Tomatoes
1 Teaspoon of Crushed Coriander Seeds
Few Basil Leaves for Serving
¼ Teaspoon of Salt and Pepper or To Taste
2 Tablespoons of Olive Oil
¼ Teaspoon of Crushed Cumin Seeds
DIRECTIONS
- Preheat oven to 425 Degrees F.
- On a baking sheet, toss the tomatoes along with the crushed cumin, coriander, oil and pepper, and salt until they get roasted.
- Roast the tomatoes for about 20 minutes until they become juicy.
- Garnish with the basil and serve hot.
4. BLACK BEAN SALAD
A fully packed healthy veggie appetizer like black bean salad just before a heavy dinner would be so good for your health as well as to control the main course dishes consumption. Adding up this salad with tortilla or potato chips tastes delicious.

430 Gms of Rinsed Black Beans
½ Teaspoon of Salt and ¼ Teaspoon of Pepper or ( Both To Taste )
3 Finely Chopped Small Jalapenos
4 Chopped Small, Seeded Plum Tomatoes
1 Finely Chopped Small Red Onion
2 Tablespoons of Fresh Lime Juice
2 Tablespoons of Finely Chopped Fresh Cilantro

- Take a medium-sized bowl and add the ingredients of black beans, tomatoes, onion, cilantro, jalapenos, salt, and pepper and mix well. Serve with any kind of potato or tortilla chips.
5. SEASONED PINEAPPLE - AVACADO APPETIZER
Pineapple and avocado paired together serve a delicious appetite when seasoned with the right flavours. This sweet, tangy and spicy appetizer adds up to a must-side dish before dinner that is packed with healthy ingredients. Adding up pieces of jalapeno increases the nutritious intake further.
