Bati is a Rajasthani bread made using whole wheat flour and can be served with chutney or dal or lots of ghee.

Ingredients
1 Tsp Ajwain
3 Cups of Whole Wheat Flour
1 Tsp Salt
Ghee for Soaking
1/2 Cup Refined Vegetable Oil
Directions
Mix oil, whole wheat flour, salt and carom seeds in a pan.
Knead into a tight dough using lukewarm water while preparing the dough.
Cover with a lid and keep aside for about 30 minutes.
Divide the dough into 10 to 12 equal parts or as required.
Roll each part and make into a ball.
Make a small impression in the center of each ball with your thumb.
Cook the balls (baatis) for about 20 to 25 minutes until they become slightly brown on a gas stove or tandoor.
Turn off the flame and dip the balls / baatis in the ghee.
Serve hot with either garlic chutney, churme ke ladoo or dal.
Recipe Note
* You can use oven for making the baatis.
* While using the oven for making the balls / baatis, preheat the oven to 200 degree C. Set the oven on toast mode. Bake the baatis for about 20 to 25 minutes till they turn into slightly brown colour. Remove from the oven and dip in ghee, serve hot.
