Maharashtrian Style North Indian Kadhi is creamy and delicious dish made with besan, dahi with spices dipped in it but without pakodas. The dish has a tangy taste and can be served hot with steamed rice as a great meal.

Ingredients
2 Tsp Cumin Seeds
2 Tsp Ginger
6 Garlic Cloves
2 Green Chillies
4 Tsp Salt
2 Cup Plain Dahi
2 Tsp Turmeric
1 Cup Besan
4 Red Chillies
2 Cup of Water
10 Curry Leaves
2 Tsp Methi
1 Tsp Hing (Asafoetida)
For Making Maharashtrian Kadhi
To Prepare Dahi Mixture
Directions
Blend the garlic cloves, green chillies, cumin seeds and ginger together into coarse paste.
To Prepare Besan - Dahi Mixture
In a bowl add dahi and beat up to make a smooth batter.
Add salt, besan and turmeric into dahi.
Add some water and beat all together. Mix well to form a smooth creamy mixture.
Now in a pan, add curry leaves, methi, hing and red chillies.
Saute them and then add the blended ginger garlic paste by mixing well.
Now to the pan, add the besan - dahi mixture.
Now mix them well and fry on a low flame (simmer).
Serve the Maharashtrian Kadhi hot with cooked plain rice, steamed rice or vegetable pulao.
Recipe Note
* Adjust the consistency of spices and dahi as per your taste.
* 1 Tbsp means Tablespoon.
* 1 Tsp means Teaspoon.
